Summer Flying Tours

summer flying tours with white husky tours and arctic chalet

You can now book your summer flying tours with us. A variety of sightseeing tours are available during June, July & August. More information on wildlife and Herschel Island tours will be available soon.

Tuk Tour

We highly recommend Inuvik's most popular flying tour, the tour to Tuktoyaktuk, an Inuvialuit village located up on the Arctic Ocean. 1/2 Day Tuk tours depart daily from Inuvik and take you on an amazing 40 minute flight over the Mackenzie Delta and Pingos before landing in Tuk. From the airport you get a 2-hour ground tour of the community. The return flight takes you straight over the treeless Arctic tundra. Don't leave Inuvik before going all the way to the top of the North American continent!

Summer and Fall Hiking Tours
with the WHITE HUSKIES

If you love dogs and enjoy hiking have we got a tour for you!

Our walking tours with the dogs are available daily Sunday through Friday.

t

Walk to Grassy Lake

Join us on a one-hour walking tour from the kennels to Grassy Lake and back. We will be hiking on a prepared sawdust trail that is relatively easy to walk on. You will enjoy this nature walk with a group of 7 or 8 loose dogs that are friendly and playful. This is a great opportunity to photograph the dogs as they enjoy their summer holidays. And the grand finale back at the yard is a visit with the puppies in the flower gardens.

Nature Walk Through the Boreal Forest

This is a two-hour hike with dogs on the mossy Taiga and is a little more challenging. Good hiking boots are recommended. We walk through the trees to a hillside where we enjoy a snack in the beautiful White Birch Forest. In Autumn we also take a few minutes to pick the wild cranberries and blueberries that grow plentifully in the area. This tour also includes some time with the puppies.

Campbell Hills Hike

Enjoy a 6-hour guided walk in the most beautiful hiking area surrounding Inuvik. We drive you a few kilometers down the Dempster Highway to the trail head and then take off on foot accompanied by two of our White Huskies. From there on we hike off trail to Loon Lake where we enjoy lunch around a campfire. Next we will take you past some cliffs and bluffs and up to the higher hills above Campbell Lake for some spectacular views. Here you can enjoy bird watching and photographing wild flowers during June and July. This is a hike you will never forget. And if you are here during the Autumn season in late August when the land is alive with color you will realize how spectacular this land really is. This hike is for the experienced hiker with good hiking boots.

Kennel Tour

For those who love dogs but are not interested in walking or hiking we offer a tour of the dog kennels. You will have the opportunity to tour the kennel and meet the dogs. We will also show you pictures of their journeys and tell you about this unique breed. At the end of the tour we will give you time to play with the puppies and will help you get some great pictures together with the pups.

Ice Road Tours

If you come to Inuvik in winter you can travel with us on the world's longest ice road! We will drive you 185 kilometers on the Mackenzie River ice from Inuvik to the Beaufort Sea and over to Tuktoyaktuk, an Inuvialuit village on the Arctic Ocean. You also get a tour of the village and will have the rare opportunity to see the incredible underground community ice house buried deep in the permafrost. (The visit to the ice house is only available to some tour operators). It's an unforgettable experience! Best time to travel the ice road is February through the middle of April.

All tours are subject to weather conditions and if necessary we will substitute a given tour for another activity. Be prepared for changes in scheduling. Tours could be delayed or postponed at the last minute to another day or cancelled altogether.
